Getting StartedManage event options

Manage event options

When to use this

Use this guide when a client needs more than one package, style direction, or budget path for the same event.

What options do in BloomBoard

Options let you keep multiple proposal paths inside one event workspace. That means your team can compare scope, pricing, and arrangements without creating duplicate event records.

Step-by-step walkthrough

Start with the default option

Every new event begins with a default option so your team can start planning immediately. Use that first option if the event only needs one path forward.

Add another option when the client needs a meaningful alternative

Create a second option if the proposal differs in a real way, such as package scope, arrangement mix, or overall budget direction.

Build arrangements inside each option

Add the arrangements and standalone items that belong to each option. An option should represent a complete version of the proposal, not a loose list of ideas.

Compare the options

Review totals, arrangement counts, and the overall shape of each option so your team can see which version is ready for the client.

Select the option you want to carry forward

Mark one option as selected when your team is ready to treat it as the active version. Only one option can be selected at a time.

Duplicate instead of rebuilding when you need a close variation

If you need a version that is mostly the same, duplicate the option and refine the copy instead of starting from zero.

Important limits to remember

  • New events always start with one default option.
  • Only one option can be selected at a time.
  • An option needs at least one arrangement before it can be selected.
  • Selected options cannot be deleted.
  • Options tied to sent or paid invoices should be treated as protected history.

Options are most useful when each one is internally coherent. If the contents overlap heavily or drift out of sync, quote review becomes harder for both your team and the client.

What happens next

Once the right option is selected, most teams move into arrangement refinement and quote generation from that same event workspace.
