The Today page
When to use this
Use Today to start your day: it lists what needs you now, across every event, so nothing waits unseen.
Today shows in the sidebar when automations, task lists or saved cards are on for your studio. Without them, the page reads Today is not available for this studio yet.
What it shows
At the top, four figures sum up the week: Clients, Money, Tasks and Done for you. Select a figure to jump to its group. Below them, the work comes in groups:
- Clients: replies and emails that wait for you. Enquiries waiting for a first reply past your reply target (with Stages on), forms your clients sent back, change requests on proposals, and automation steps that wait for your OK, such as Email ready or Form ready.
- Money: payments to invoice, overdue invoices, card payments that failed, saved-card charges on hold, and bank transfers your clients reported, with a total.
- Tasks: due today or late. You see your own tasks and tasks for nobody yet. Under them, Coming up lists the tasks due in the next 7 days, with their day, for example “due Fri 16 Oct”. Tick them off early if you like. The Tasks figure counts only the tasks due today or late. A task with no due date never shows on Today.
- Done for you: what your automations sent on their own this week.
While automations are not fully set up, a Finish setting up card shows the next step (Studio plan).
How a row clears
A row leaves the list when you deal with it: reply to the client, send the invoice, confirm the transfer with It’s in my bank, or tick the task.
Chase a payment
An Unpaid or Card payment failed row has Edit then send. It opens the payment reminder for that invoice.
- Change the subject or the message if you like. The amount due and the link to pay follow your message. The invoice PDF goes with it when it is ready.
- Select Send.
The row then leaves Today for 24 hours, the same as after a reminder you send from the invoice. If the invoice is still unpaid, it comes back.
One reminder goes in any 24 hours, whether you sent it from Today, from the invoice, or your payment reminders sent it. Inside that time, the window says when you can send the next one.
The row’s ⋯ menu has Open invoice, Skip and Snooze.
Skip or snooze a money row
You can put an Unpaid or Card payment failed row, or an invoice to issue, aside from its ⋯ menu.
- Snooze 1 day, Snooze 3 days or Snooze 1 week hides the row until then.
- Skip hides the row until something changes. An unpaid invoice comes back when its due date or total changes, or when a card payment on it fails. An invoice to issue comes back when its payment’s date or amount changes.
A row you skip or snooze also leaves the figures and the morning email. The invoice itself does not change. Rows that an automation step backs keep the step’s own Skip and Snooze.
Staff see the page too, but some actions need an owner or admin, and a banner says so. Staff can tick their tasks. Only an owner or admin can send, skip or snooze.
The morning email
The morning digest sends the same list by email at 7 am, only on days when something waits. When tasks are coming up, it ends with one line, such as “4 more tasks this week”, that opens Today. Switch it on or off in Settings → Email, under Morning digest.
Ask the assistant
Ask the assistant “what needs me today?” for this list in chat. Until automations are switched on for your studio, the assistant’s list can be longer than this page, and it says so.
