Show a price guide on your website
When to use this
Use the price guide when clients ask what things cost before they enquire. You type a low and a high price for each piece you make. On your website, a client picks their occasion, adds the pieces they have in mind, and sees an honest starting range. One button, Enquire with this estimate, opens your enquiry form with their pieces already filled in.
The estimate arrives with the enquiry, so you can see what the client was shown before you write the proposal. It is a guide for the client, never a quote: nothing in your proposal is priced from it.
The price guide is part of Core and Studio, like your enquiry link, and the free trial includes it. It is switched on per studio while it rolls out. On Studio, clients see the guide with your own logo and colors. On Core, they see BloomBoard’s standard look.
What you need first
- Core, Studio or a free trial, and the price guide switched on for your studio. If you do not see Price guide in the Business menu, it is not on for your studio yet.
- An owner or admin seat to change the guide. Staff can see it.
- A website that uses https, if you want the guide on your website. Without a website, you can share the guide’s own link instead.
Set up your price guide
Open the Price guide page
Open Business, then Price guide. It sits under Pipeline, after Enquiry form.
Each occasion your enquiry form offers has its own pieces and prices. Pick the occasion at the top of Pieces and ranges, such as A wedding or A corporate event: the table lists the pieces your enquiry form asks about for that occasion, in your own arrangement groups, and What clients see shows that occasion (see below). Nothing is shown to clients until you switch the guide on. A piece that two occasions share, such as table centerpieces, has a price for each, so a corporate centerpiece can cost more than a wedding one. To offer another occasion, or stop offering one, select Edit occasions beside the occasions: it opens the Occasions card on Business → Enquiry form.
Type a low and a high for each piece
Type whole amounts in your studio currency, such as 3250, 3,250 or 3 250. A price saves when you leave the field. If it is not a whole amount, the field goes back to the saved price and the row says why. Type the same number twice for a flat price. A piece with no range is not shown to clients, so leave a piece empty to keep it off the guide.
- Select a piece’s name to rename it. Clients see the new name.
- Point at a piece and select × to take it off your guide. A piece you added yourself is deleted. A piece your enquiry form offers keeps its prices: to bring it back, select + Add a piece at the bottom of its group, then its name under Add back.
- + Add a piece at the bottom of a group adds a piece of your own to the occasion you picked. + Add a piece to another group, under the table, adds one to a group that has no pieces for that occasion yet.
Select a group’s heading to rename it too, so Personal Flowers can read For you and your party on your guide. Only your price guide changes: the group keeps its name in Arrangement groups and on your proposals. Empty the name to go back to the group’s own name.
A high price below its low price is refused, and the row says so.
Add a fee line (optional)
Type a name, such as Design, delivery and setup, and a percentage. It is added to both ends of the range. Leave it at 0 to show the flowers only.
Choose the tax sentence
Choose Prices include or Prices exclude your tax, or Say nothing. Your minimum spend comes from the Budget question card on Business → Forms (called Client briefs until Forms are switched on for your studio). The Tax and minimum card links to it. When you have one, the guide says, for example, “Our weddings start from R25,000”. An estimate that starts below your minimum starts at it instead, such as R25,000 – R30,000. An estimate that ends at or below your minimum reads “From R25,000”.
Check the words
The Words card holds the title, the intro, the total label, the fine print and the button. Leave a line empty to use BloomBoard’s words.
Turn it on
Switch the price guide On. From then on, every change you make reaches your website straight away, and Last published shows the date and the version.
Check the guide as you build it
What clients see shows your price guide, live, as clients see it: with your logo and colors on Studio, and in BloomBoard’s standard look on Core. It changes as you type, before anything saves.
- It opens with a sample estimate already picked, so a range shows straight away: the first priced piece of each of your first three groups, at 1, 3 and 8.
- Tap + and − on any piece, or pick another occasion when you offer more than one, to try the guide as a client would. Reset sample puts the sample back.
- Nothing in it is saved or sent. Enquire with this estimate does nothing here, as the line under the guide says: “Preview only. Nothing is sent from here.”
- With no piece priced yet, it shows “Add a piece to see your range.” Type a low and a high on any piece and it appears.
- With the guide Off, it shows what clients see then: “Our price guide is being updated. You can still enquire.” with an Enquire button.
On a narrower screen or a phone, the panel sits above the controls. Select Show what clients see to open it.
Put it on your website
Choose Get the snippet. Choose where the guide goes, select Copy the code, and paste it into a Code or Embed block in your website builder:
- In your page: the guide sits in your page, on your page’s own background, and grows as clients add pieces. Best for a Pricing or Weddings page.
- A button that opens it: a button on your page opens the guide over it. Best for a menu or a hero.
- Plain frame: a frame with a fixed height, for builders that strip scripts.
Choose your builder (Squarespace, Wix, Showit, WordPress or Shopify) to see where the code goes. Show the code shows what you copy. Your prices update on your site the moment you change them here.
With stages switched on, the Website link under Share it in more places, on Business → Enquiry form, also has a Price guide button with the same three choices, and enquiries from them arrive with Found us via: Website.
No website? Copy the link under the switch and share it anywhere.
What clients see
The client picks the occasion when you offer more than one, and taps + and − on each piece. They see the range for each piece and line, the flowers subtotal, your fee line, their estimated range, your minimum and your fine print. Nothing is sent while they browse, and their picks wait in their browser for a return visit.
When they choose Enquire with this estimate, your enquiry form opens in the same place. The “What do you need?” step is already filled in with their pieces. They can change anything before they send it.
If your enquiry form has no “What do you need?” step for that occasion, the estimate still goes with the enquiry, but no pieces are filled in.
If you change your prices while a client has the guide open, their estimate moves to your new prices when they enquire, and the guide tells them once.
Show the ranges on your enquiry form too
On Business → Price guide, switch on On your enquiry form. The “What do you need?” step of your enquiry form then shows the range under each piece and a running estimate, using the same prices. A form sent this way also arrives with the estimate the client saw. If the client takes out every piece of their estimate on that step before sending, no estimate arrives. The same switch sits on the needs question in the form editor.
What arrives
- The card on your Events board reads Client estimate and the range the client saw, until a proposal is accepted.
- On the event, the brief sheet lists the estimate line by line, with the fee, the total, your minimum, the date and the guide version.
- Beside the proposal total, “Client saw” shows the range and the date. It turns amber when the proposal total goes above or below that range.
- The arrangements are added with the client’s quantities and no prices, when the enquiry form has a “What do you need?” step. Your proposal and the event budget are never priced from the estimate.
- In a saved email, the Client estimate field writes out the estimate as plain lines.
- The assistant in BloomBoard can read the estimate piece by piece, and so can an assistant you connect to your studio.
Ask the assistant
The assistant in BloomBoard reads your price guide and changes it as the Price guide page does. Ask, for example, “What does my guide say for a bridal bouquet?”, “Set wedding table centerpieces to 150 to 275”, “Add garlands to my wedding pieces at 100 to 200”, “Change the fine print” or “Give me the code for my website”. Staff can ask what is on the guide. Only owners and admins can change it.
- While the guide is Off, a change saves at once, and the reply has an Undo button.
- While the guide is On, clients see every change straight away. The assistant first shows a card that lists each change, old and new. Nothing changes until you select Save and publish.
- Turning the guide on or off waits on a card too.
- A piece your enquiry form offers is taken off your guide and keeps its prices, as × does on the page.
- Undo puts back what the change touched and updates your website. If the same thing changed again since, Undo says so and changes nothing.
Common questions
- A piece is missing from the guide. It has no low or no high, it is hidden, or its occasion is not offered on the Occasions card of Business → Enquiry form.
- Clients see “Our price guide is being updated.” The guide is off, or no piece has a range yet. Your snippets and your guide link keep working: the line shows in your brand, and its Enquire button opens your enquiry form in the same place.
- Clients see a paused page. Your enquiry link is paused, or your studio no longer has a plan.
- The total reads “From”. The client’s whole range is at or below your minimum spend, so the guide shows where your prices start.
