Connect BloomBoard to ChatGPT or Claude
Connected assistants are in a private beta. If you do not see ChatGPT and Claude under Settings → Connected apps, it is not switched on for your studio yet.
When to use this
Use this guide when you already use ChatGPT or Claude and want it to answer questions about your studio, in your own chat, without copying anything out of BloomBoard. Once connected, you can ask things like:
- “What needs me today?”
- “What events do I have this weekend, and what is still open on each?”
- “Which invoices are overdue?”
- “What did the client write in her brief about colors?”
- “What do I still need to buy for next week?”
- “How much came in this month, and who still owes us?”
Each answer comes from your studio’s own records, with a link that opens the right page in BloomBoard.
What you need first
- A BloomBoard studio on Core, Studio or a trial.
- Your own BloomBoard login as an owner, admin or staff member of that studio.
- For Claude: a Claude account. Claude lets you add a connector by its web address on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Free allows one such connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner of your Claude organization adds it.
- For ChatGPT: during the beta, ChatGPT can only add BloomBoard in Developer mode. Once BloomBoard is listed in ChatGPT’s directory, you connect it from there instead.
- The BloomBoard address for assistants:
https://mcp.bloomboard.io/mcp
Each connection belongs to one person and one studio. Your teammates connect their own assistants with their own logins.
Step-by-step walkthrough
Connect Claude
Add BloomBoard as a connector
In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom
connector. Name it BloomBoard and paste https://mcp.bloomboard.io/mcp as
the address. Claude’s own labels can change, so look for “connectors” if the
names differ.
Sign in to BloomBoard
Choose Connect. Claude opens a BloomBoard page. Sign in if you are asked. If you signed in a while ago, BloomBoard asks for your password again before it lets anything connect. This keeps someone at an unlocked computer from connecting your studio.
Check the request and allow it
The page names the assistant, the studio it will read and your role there. If you belong to more than one studio, choose the one to connect. Read what it can do, then choose Allow. Choose Deny if you did not start this yourself.
Ask your first question
Back in Claude, ask “What needs me today?” Claude may ask your permission the first time it reads from BloomBoard.
Connect ChatGPT
Find BloomBoard in ChatGPT
When BloomBoard is listed in ChatGPT’s directory, open the directory in
ChatGPT, find BloomBoard and choose Connect. During the beta, turn on
Developer mode in ChatGPT’s settings, then add a new connector with the
address https://mcp.bloomboard.io/mcp.
Sign in and allow
ChatGPT opens the same BloomBoard page as Claude does. Sign in if asked, choose the studio if you belong to more than one, check what it can do, and choose Allow.
Ask your first question
Ask ChatGPT “What events do I have this weekend?” to check that it can read your studio.
What happens next
What your assistant can read
Your assistant reads your studio the way you see it in BloomBoard:
- today’s priorities, the same groups as your Today page
- events, their dates, venues, open tasks and what is still to do
- the estimate a client sent from your price guide: each piece, its range, the fee and the total the client saw
- enquiries, and who is still waiting on a reply where your studio tracks replies
- clients and their contacts
- brief answers your clients sent
- proposals, their lines, payment schedule and signing state
- invoices, what is paid and what is overdue
- your library’s flowers and sundries with their costs, the buy list and arrangement recipes
- tasks across events, and the Week-of plan for an event
- on the Studio plan, the Analytics money figures: collected this month, what is owed, and revenue and margin over time
It does not read your synced email, client notes, photos, documents or payment details. Enquiries from your public form appear only after you accept them in BloomBoard.
What it can add
An owner or admin can also tick Also let it add drafts on the BloomBoard page when connecting. Staff connections stay read only. With drafts allowed, your assistant can:
- add an enquiry from details you paste or dictate (it reuses a client whose email already exists and tells you when a name looks like a duplicate)
- add an internal note to an event (clients never see notes)
- add a task to an event, for you or for nobody, and tick a task off
- add an arrangement to an event’s selected option
- start a draft proposal for an event
- change an event’s details, such as its name, venue name, guest count or coordinator
Everything it adds stays in BloomBoard for you to check and finish. It never changes an event’s status, stage or budget. Tasks that belong to an automation are left for you, because ticking them can start the next step. If a change would normally start an automated email, BloomBoard holds it for you to review and send yourself. An arrangement cannot be added while the latest proposal is sent and locked; start a new draft first.
If you connected read only and later want drafts, connect it again from your assistant and tick Also let it add drafts. On a read-only connection, Claude has nothing that adds drafts, so it tells you it cannot add anything. ChatGPT may ask you to approve drafts.
What it never does
A connected assistant cannot send anything to your clients, take or record payments, or delete anything. It cannot change your team, your plan or your settings.
Where your studio’s data goes
Your assistant receives what it asks BloomBoard for, under its own terms. ChatGPT is run by OpenAI and Claude by Anthropic, and each keeps your conversation under its own privacy policy. BloomBoard keeps no copy of your conversation. It keeps a short activity record of which kind of information was read and when, without the content, for 90 days.
See and disconnect your connections
Open Settings → Connected apps → ChatGPT and Claude. Each row shows the assistant, who connected it, when it was last used and whether it is Read only or Can add drafts. Choose Disconnect to end a connection at once. You can connect it again from your assistant at any time.
Owners and admins see every member’s connections and can disconnect any of them. Staff see their own.
A row can also show:
- Paused: your studio’s BloomBoard access is paused, for example after a trial ends. The connection resumes by itself once your studio is active again. Open BloomBoard to continue.
- Reconnect needed: the connection ended for your security, for example after a password change, a password reset or Sign out everywhere, or after 30 days without use. Connect it again from your assistant.
- Disconnected: you, an owner or the assistant ended the connection.
- Disconnected by BloomBoard: we ended it as a precaution. Connect it again from your assistant when you are ready.
A plain sign-out on one device, or signing out your other sessions, leaves your connections as they are.
More than one studio
A connection reads one studio. To use another studio, disconnect BloomBoard in your assistant, connect it again and choose the other studio.
Where it is available
The ChatGPT plugin is available in the countries listed on OpenAI’s directory; Claude’s connector is available wherever Claude is.
